It is beautifully light yet moist, with that gentle density you want in a proper tea cake. The orange flavour tastes real—zesty, fragrant, and just sharp enough to cut through the sweetness without overpowering it. Then come the poppy seeds, adding that subtle nuttiness and a delicate crunch that keeps every bite interesting. And the piece de resistance is the cream cheese icing! Oh my! It really makes the cake absolutely superb! You could easily have a slice with a cup of tea and feel virtuous… and then find yourself going back for another without a second thought.
